Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6-8 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Lemon wedges for serving



Directions


  1. Prepare the Salmon:


  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.


2. Heat the Pan:


  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.


3. Cook the Salmon:


  • Place the salmon fillets skin-side up in the skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes until the salmon easily releases from the pan and develops a golden-brown crust. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Transfer the salmon to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.



4. Make the Sauce:


  • Reduce the heat to medium. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the lemon slices, lemon juice, parsley, dill, and thyme. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the herbs are fragrant and the sauce has slightly thickened.



Combine and Serve:

  • Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the fillets. Let the salmon simmer in the sauce for 1-2 minutes to absorb the flavours. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
